For first time customers with appliances
A: Often times, repairing your existing appliance is the smarter choice for many reasons. The first being that repairs are usually a cheaper option than replacing your entire appliance.
Older appliances are better built even though they are simple and have less options. New appliances with their many components, give opportunity for more to go wrong or break down.
Prices for new appliances have dramatically increased over the last 10 years. Back in those days, $400 would get you a high-quality brand name washer with all the newest bells and whistles – today, that $400 would only get you the most basic model, which will require frequent repairs.
Keeping your existing appliance can save you money in the long term, and also protect the environment.
A: At QuickFix Appliances, we provide you with a free service call when you decide to go ahead with the repair. If your intention is to get your appliance fixed, you receive a free diagnostic and a quote to get your appliance working like new.
If you decide you do not want to continue with the repair process, our service call requires a small fee.
A: Regardless of the appliance type (fridge, dishwasher, washer, oven or stove) – prices start at $120 for simple problems. Prices can go upwards of $200 depending on the severity of the issue, as well as parts required and length of time the repair will take.
All prices and quotes are provided up front to our customers so you know exactly how much your repair will cost. This way you can decide what option is best for you and your family.
A: Yes! Your appliance can be fixed the same day. We are very proud to offer same day service for all of our customers. Our technicians always have the most common repair parts on-hand, meaning your appliance can fixed on the same day!
A: First thing you should do is check the drum of your washer or dryer to see if any loose coins or objects have made their way inside, these can make an unwanted clunking sound.
If there is nothing there, the problem could be internal, and a technician will be able to open up your washer or dryer to find the source of the noise.
There could be a few components that are the source of the noise and the technician will check each one until the source of the problem is found!
A: The odds of you needing a new compressor for your fridge is pretty rare. On average, only 5% of fridges not cooling cases are compressor related. There are many components of your fridge that can cause it not to cool.
Fortunately, the other repairs are more simple than replacing a compressor and most of the parts are always kept in stock in all of our technicians vans. This means your repair can be done on the same day, and your fridge will be back in working condition.
A: The first thing to do when there is no power going to your appliance is to check your circuit breaker in your fuse box. Make sure all the fuse switches are pointing in the right direction.
If this doesn’t solve the problem, then a technician will be able to come by, open up your appliance and determine why it is not receiving any power. A solution will be provided to you, to get your appliance working again!
A: The most common reason a dishwasher does not drain properly is because the filter inside becomes clogged. Most filters are located under the bottom rack of your dishwasher. Remove the filter and clean it well (soaking in vinegar may help).
Also, reach inside the area under the filter and see if you can remove any food scraps that could be blocking the drain. If this doesn’t solve the problem, there could be a clog inside your system, and/or a part along the drain cycle could be malfunctioning. A technician can come by and open up your dishwasher to find the reason why your dishwasher is not draining.
A: If your washer is not draining, check the filter located in the bottom of your washer. Occasionally, the filter can get clogged. Clean the filter well to get any residue out, then insert it back inside the washer. See if this solves the draining issue. If it does not, a technician would need to come by and look inside your washer and see if there are any internal clogs or parts that are failing to allow the washer to drain.
A: On average, it should take between 40-50 minutes to dry a load of laundry. If you notice that your dryer is taking longer than that to dry your clothes, then we recommended that your dryer to be serviced.
A part of your dryer may not be operating at 100%, or there could be another issue which is causing you to having longer drying times, and raising the costs of your utility bills.
A: First step is to check your circuit breaker to make sure you have power going to your dryer. If this is not the issue, a technician would need to come by to examine the dryer to see why there is no heat being created.
There are usually 3 or 4 reasons as to why a dryer would not be creating heat, and our technician will be able to determine the problem and provide a quote to get your dryer working like new!
A: There are a few things to remember to ensure your dishwasher stays working perfectly. 1. You should always pre-rinse your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. 2. You should be using the correct type of soap or detergent recommended by the manufacturer. 3. Ensure that there is water going inside your washer.
If you are still having issues with your dishwasher, one of our technicians would be happy to come by and take a look at your dishwasher to see why your dishwasher isn’t cleaning dishes properly.
The technician will provide you with a quote once he knows what the issue is and explain everything that needs to be done to get your dishwasher back in working order.
A: Check the circuit breaker to ensure that the fuse is on and that your oven is receiving power. If you are still not receiving heat in your oven, please call one of our technicians to come take a look. Our technician will be able to open up your oven and determine the reason as to why your oven is not receiving any heat.
