Q: Should I repair or replace my appliance?

A: Often times, repairing your existing appliance is the smarter choice for many reasons. The first being that repairs are usually a cheaper option than replacing your entire appliance.

Older appliances are better built even though they are simple and have less options. New appliances with their many components, give opportunity for more to go wrong or break down.

Prices for new appliances have dramatically increased over the last 10 years. Back in those days, $400 would get you a high-quality brand name washer with all the newest bells and whistles – today, that $400 would only get you the most basic model, which will require frequent repairs.

Keeping your existing appliance can save you money in the long term, and also protect the environment.

Also, reach inside the area under the filter and see if you can remove any food scraps that could be blocking the drain.
